Chelsea (Lucas) Leis was named the Lourdes University head competitive cheer and dance coach in March of 2016, becoming the second leader in the program's history.
In her first season at the helm of the Gray Wolves, Leis led Lourdes to an eighth place finish at the 2017 NAIA National Championships. Her squad followed that effort up in 2018 with a seventh place finish at the 2018 NAIA National Championships. In 2019, Leis' squad finished in a school-best fifth place at the NAIA National Championships.

Leis guided Lourdes to back-to-back Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships in 2017 and 2018.
The 2017 and 2018 WHAC Coach of the Year, Leis produced the WHAC Cheerleader of the Year in 2018 and 2019. She also led the WHAC Newcomer of the Year in her first season.Â

In addition, Leis has produced four NAIA All-Americans and an Honorable Mention All-American. She also has had five cheerleaders earn First Team All-WHAC honors and nine cheerleaders named Second Team All-WHAC.
Leis' student-athletes have also excelled in the classroom, as she has mentored four NAIA Scholar-Athletes as well as six WHAC All-Academic Team members during her tenure at Lourdes.

Leis arrived at Lourdes after working with GymStars USA in Lima, Ohio since 2006, where she worked as the All-Star Cheerleading Program Director. While with GymStars, she guided squads over 60 athletes at three different levels over her eight years coaching. Prior to GymStars USA, Leis worked as an All-Star cheerleading coach for Encore Athletics in Louisville, Ky.

Leis was a member of the University of Louisville’s 2014 small coed Division IA team that won the school’s 18th national championship. She also was a 2014 All-Girl Level Cheerleading Worlds finalist. Leis also competed for two years as a member of the 22-time world champion GymTyme All-Stars.

A 2014 graduate of the University of Louisville, Leis has a bachelor’s degree in sports administration and exercise physiology.
