Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes opens its second season of men's collegiate volleyball season this weekend as the Gray Wolves host a pair of Mid-America Men's Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference East Division matches.  The Gray Wolves will entertain Robert Morris (Ill.) on Friday evening before Cardinal Stritch visits Tam-o-Shanter on Saturday afternoon.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his second season both on the Lourdes bench, and overall coaching men's volleyball, Greg Reitz has a 16-10 (.615) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  He was named to the MAMVIC East Coach of the Year in 2012.  Reitz is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes leads the all-time series against Robert Morris (Ill.) 2-0 dating back to Jan. 28, 2012.  The Gray Wolves downed the Eagles 3-1 at Tam-o-Shanter in their first meeting last season before posting a 3-0 sweep against Robert Morris in Chicago, Ill. on Feb. 18.  Cardinal Stritch holds a 2-0 advantage all-time against Lourdes, winning both ends of a doubleheader at Tam-o-Shanter last year on Jan. 27.  The Wolves won the opening match 3-2 before posting a 3-0 sweep in the nightcap.

Wrapping Up 2012: The Gray Wolves finished the 2012 campaign with a 16-10 record overall.  In their first season as members of the MAMVIC East, Lourdes posted a 6-6 record, finishing fourth in the conference standings.  Greg Reitz was named the MAMVIC East Coach of the Year while Nick DiMarco was the Newcomer of the Year and a First Team All-Conference selection.  Jeremy Wood was named to the league's Second Team while Frank Craig and Zander Epps were Honorable Mention selections.

Scouting Robert Morris (Ill.): The Eagles finished 1-19 overall and 0-12 in the MAMVIC East during the 2012 season to finish in seventh place in the conference standings.  Tyler Boyce returns after leading Robert Morris in kills last season with 122 while Craig Ortiz is also back after leading the team with 111 digs one season ago.  The Eagles return a total of 13 players that saw action from last year's squad.

Scouting Cardinal Stritch: The Wolves opened their 2013 season last weekend with a 3-0 loss at IPFW.  Cardinal Stritch finished 2012 20-14 overall and 9-3 in the MAMVIC East, finishing in second place.  The Wolves travel to Siena Heights on Friday before heading to Lourdes on Saturday afternoon.  Cardinal Stritch led the nation last year in total digs and total blocks, ranked second in kills, and third in service aces.  Adam Cosson had a team-high six kills in the opener at IPFW while Patrick Ronan had a team-high six digs.  Brian Hoffman recorded three service aces and four blocks in the opener.

Lourdes in Season Openers: The Gray Wolves are looking for their first victory in a season opener after falling 3-0 on Jan. 17, 2012 in their inaugural season opener to #1 Saint Ambrose at Tam-o-Shanter.  This marks the second straight season the Gray Wolves will open the year at home.

Captains Named: Senior Nick DiMarco and junior Trevor Lund have been named team captains for the 2013 season.  DiMarco led the Gray Wolves with 342 kills one season ago and will be a two-time team captain.  Lund will be in his first season at Lourdes after transferring in from Irvine Valley College.

Autograph Signing Friday: Lourdes LEAP program will be holding an autograph session following Friday night's match against Robert Morris (Ill.).  The Gray Wolves men's volleyball team will sign programs and posters for fans courtside at Tam-o-Shanter immediately following the conclusion of the contest.

New Faces: Of the 14 players on the 2013 roster, only seven return from last season.  Nick DiMarco and Zander Epps are the lone seniors on this year's squad, which also features four freshmen and three transfers.

Jumping Into Conference Action: Lourdes will play MAMVIC East matches in eight of their first 10 contests this season, including the first two of the year this weekend.  The Gray Wolves have a stretch of nine straight non-conference contests on the slate, but that stretch of matches will not begin until Feb. 23.

Facing Ranked Opponents: Cardinal Stritch enters the match ranked 9th in the country and will mark the 13th match all-time in which Lourdes has faced a ranked opponent.  The Gray Wolves are 3-9 all-time against ranked foes, but have never defeated a top-10 team at home.

This and That: Nick DiMarco is Lourdes top returnee in terms of kills from last season with 342 while also posting 151 digs, most among returnees ... Frank Craig had 86 blocks during the inaugural season of Gray Wolf volleyball ... 12 of 26 matches were decided in three sets in 2012 while just five went the full five sets.
