Lourdes University's men's volleyball team opened up its swing through the Carolinas on Monday evening dropping a 25-20, 25-17, 25-21 decision to Lees-McRae at Williams Gymnasium in Banner Elk, N.C.
“To say we did not play well tonight is an understatement,” head coach
Greg Reitz stated after the match. “It was a disappointing effort tonight from the guys but we have to put this in the past. We return to the court in less than 24 hours and need to be ready to go again tomorrow night.”
The Gray Wolves hit just .045 for the match, committing 25 attack errors in the three sets. The Bobcats, on the other hand, hit .266.
Frank Craig (Jacksonville, Fla./Englewood H.S.) led the way for Lourdes with eight kills while
Olivia Cizmazia (Bratislava, Slovakia/Metodova H.S.) handed out 23 assists.
Brad Miller (Convoy, Ohio/Crestview H.S.) and
Garrett Jones (Las Vegas, Nev./Las Vegas H.S.) each registered nine digs while
Zander Epps (San Diego, Calif./Eastlake H.S.) tallied a team-best four blocks.
John Lucas led Lees-McRae (12-5) with eight kills.
Lourdes (9-9) will return to action on Tuesday evening, traveling to Due West, S.C. to face Erskine. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
