Lourdes University's men's volleyball team will face Saint Xavier on Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. EDT (9:30 a.m. CDT) in the opening round of the 2013 MAMVIC East tournament which will be held at the Lillian & Larry Goodman Center in Chicago, Ill.
 
The Gray Wolves, the tournament's fourth seed, defeated the fifth-seeded Cougars 3-1 on Feb. 21 in Chicago before sweeping Saint Xavier (6-20, 3-9 MAMVIC East) at Springfield High School on March 15.  Lourdes (14-10, 7-5) is 5-0 all-time against the Cougars, including a victory in last year's MAMVIC East Tournament.
 
The winner of the Lourdes-Saint Xavier match will meet top-seeded Saint Ambrose (18-9, 10-2) in the tournament semifinals on Friday evening beginning at 6 p.m. EDT (5 p.m. local).  The championship match is slated for 2 p.m. EDT (1 p.m. local) on Saturday afternoon.
 
The other two first round matches on Friday have third-seeded Clarke (19-9, 9-3) meeting sixth-seeded Siena Heights (10-12, 2-10) at 1 p.m. EDT (noon local) and second-seeded Cardinal Stritch (21-12, 10-2) meeting seventh-seeded, and tournament host, Robert Morris (Ill.) at 3:30 p.m. EDT (2:30 p.m. CDT).  Those two winners will meet in Friday night's second semifinal which is slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT (7:30 p.m. local).
