Lourdes University saw its inaugural season of women's soccer come to a close on Wednesday night, as the Gray Wolves dropped a 6-0 decision to 14^th-ranked Siena Heights in the quarterfinals of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament held at O'Laughlin Stadium in Adrian, Mich.
 
The seventh-seeded Gray Wolves finish the season 8-9-1 overall. 
 
"The goals this group accomplished and the challenges they overcame this season is nothing short of superb," head coach Jackie Donovan said afterwards.  "We are very proud of this team and they will forever leave a lasting legacy."
 
Siena Heights (16-3) took the lead just 5:57 into the match as Taylor Mulder took a through ball from Alexis Gainer and found the back of the net.  Mulder added her second tally of the night less than seven minutes later to put the Saints up 2-0 at the 12:31 mark.  Just 1:12 after the second goal, Emily Burkman finished a cross from Kacey Lawniczak, and Siena Heights had a 3-0 lead it would take into intermission.
 
Alexis Gainer added to the Saints lead 2:17 out of the break before Emily Loar scored a pair of goals less than two minutes apart in the final six minutes of the match to close out the scoring.
 
Siena Heights, the tournament's second seed, finished the match outshooting Lourdes 32-3 overall, including an 18-2 advantage on goal.  Cassie Glovier (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee H.S.), making her Gray Wolf debut, made 12 saves in goal for Lourdes while Meghan Bogg made two stops in the shutout for the Saints.
 
With the victory, Siena Heights advances to Saturday's semifinals, where the Saints will host Madonna.
