Lourdes saw its 2015 season come to a close on Saturday evening as the Gray Wolves dropped a 12-10 decision to 12
th-ranked Siena Heights at O'Laughlin Stadium in Adrian, Mich. in the quarterfinals of the CCLA tournament.

The Gray Wolves held a 6-1 lead midway through the second quarter before the Saints rallied to advance to next weekend's semifinals.

"We fought hard the entire game and never gave up," head coach
Patrick Yannarelli said after the game. "We have a great core of players that gained valuable experience this year and we have a bright future."

Danny Bichsel (Westrville, Ohio/North H.S.) put the Gray Wolves on the scoreboard at the 9:18 mark of the opening quarter before
Jared Yoshino (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) followed less than three minutes later.Â
Casey Hilfinger (Whitehouse, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.),
Dalton Vowles (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.), and
Dylan Gill (Holland, Ohio/Saint Francis H.S.) followed with three goals in a two minute span as Lourdes opened up a 5-0 lead late in the first quarter.

Siena Heights scored its first goal with 10 seconds remaining in the opening quarter before Vowles scored a man up at the 8:46 mark of the second quarter to push the Gray Wolves' advantage back to five, 6-1.

The Saints scored four times in the final 6:08 of the half to pull within one, 6-5, at the break. The hosts scored the first goal of the third quarter to tie the game before Vowles tallied his third of the game to give the Gray Wolves their final advantage of the game, 7-6, with 11:46 to play in the third.

Siena Heights (12-1) scored four straight goals to take the lead for the first time, building a 10-7 advantage before Hilfinger found the back of the cage for the second time. The Saints added two more goals before
Trent Hasenfratz (Maumee, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) made it a 12-9 game heading into the final quarter with a goal in the final minute of the third.

Neither team would score in the final quarter until Hilfinger tallied his third goal of the game with just 17 seconds left.

Joe Hollinger (Maumee, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) made 18 saves between the posts for Lourdes while Ryan Mailloux made 12 stops in the win for the Saints.Â

Spencer Macek led Siena Heights with five goals while Shane Lewandowski added four goals and five assists.

Lourdes season comes to a close with a 4-7 record.
