The 2016 season came to a close for Lourdes on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves suffered a 2-1 setback to Concordia (Mich.) at Cardinal Field in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The Cardinals took the lead with just 2:47 remaining before halftime as Justine Jahnke found the back of the net with Rachel Hay drawing the assist.

Concordia outshot Lourdes 13-2 in the opening 45 minutes, but
Kiley Transit (Royal Oak, Mich./Royal Oak H.S.) made six saves to keep the match close.

Lora Palushaj tallied an unassisted goal, which proved to be insurance for the Cardinals, 3:25 out of the break, to increase the lead to 2-0

Kayla Lehmann (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.), a senior playing in her final collegiate match, scored her first collegiate goal with 10:06 to play, heading home a corner from
Clare Ciarlino (Taylor, Mich./Truman H.S.) to cut the deficit in half. Lourdes could not find the equalizer down the stretch though.

Concordia (10-8, 5-5 WHAC) outshot Lourdes 29-10 for the match, including a 15-7 edge on frame. Ciarlino had four of the Gray Wolves' seven shots on goal. Transit finished with 13 saves for Lourdes (3-12-1, 1-9) while Maria Lulgjuraj made six stops for the Cardinals. Concordia also had a 7-2 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
