Lourdes closed out the 2016 regular season in style on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves defeated Lawrence Tech 21-14 at Wildcat Stadium to celebrate Senior Day.

"We are very excited that the season ended on a high note and we are looking forward to having an opportunity to keep playing," head coach
Patrick Yannarelli said. "As the seniors' final home game, we just want to reiterate how proud we are of #7 and #33. They are still helping us build this program and we appreciate everything they have done."

Danny Bichsel (Westerville, Ohio/North H.S.) scored five times and
Dylan Gill (Holland, Ohio/Saint Francis H.S.) added a goal after the duo were honored prior to the game.

The first half saw a pattern of two Lourdes goals scored followed by a Blue Devil tally, and the Gray Wolves took an 8-4 lead into halftime. After Lawrence Tech scored the opening goal of the third quarter, Lourdes scored four times in less than three minutes, including three tallies by
Jared Yoshino (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) to extend the advantage to 12-5.

The fifth-ranked Gray Wolves led 15-8 before the Blue Devils scored five of the next six goals to close to within 16-13 with 7:53 to play, but
Tanner Jaramillo (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.), Bichsel, and
Dalton Vowles (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) all scored within 44 seconds of each other as Lourdes seized control for good.

Vowles finished the game with eight goals and two assists while Yoshino had four goals and five helpers. Bichsel added four helpers to his scoring total as well.

Jaramillo had two goals and
Casey Hilfinger (Whitehouse, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) added the other as the Gray Wolves finished off the home slate a perfect 5-0 in the regular season.

Tip Popp led Lawrence Tech (4-5, 1-3 WHAC) with five goals.

Conner Mishler (Lambertville, Mich./Saint John's H.S.) made 13 saves in goal for the Gray Wolves while Adam Gohl made four stops for the Blue Devils as Lourdes outshot their guests 48-43 on the afternoon.

Yoshino collected a team-high eight ground balls while Bichsel and
Kevin Keehn (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield H.S.) each had four for the Gray Wolves.

Lourdes (12-2, 4-1) will now await the CCLA tournament which will begin on campus sites next weekend. The official pairings should be announced early in the week.
