Lourdes jumped out to a 7-0 lead at halftime on Friday morning and defeated Siena Heights 19-8 in the semifinals of the Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association tournament held at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa.

"We came out focused today and the guys played well as a team," head coach
Patrick Yannarelli said afterwards. "We were pleased with the way the goalie and defense communicated and how the faceoff groups fought for groundballs. The attack did a nice job of controlling tempo."

Jared Yoshino (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) scored five times and handed out eight assists on the day while
Danny Bichsel (Westerville, Ohio/North H.S.) and
Dalton Vowles (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) each found the back of the cage five times as well.

Yoshino started the scoring just 1:38 into the contest and
Dylan Gill (Holland, Ohio/Saint Francis H.S.) added a tally 24 seconds later and the Gray Wolves were off and running. Lourdes built a 6-0 lead after one quarter and added another tally in the second to take a seven-goal advantage into intermission.

Lourdes outshot the Saints 12-1 in the opening period on the way to a 41-28 shot edge for the game.Â

After Yoshino scored the opening goal of the third quarter, Siena Heights (11-5) tallied three straight to pull within five, 8-3. Bichsel and Vowles accounted for the final five goals of the period though, and Lourdes took a 13-3 advantage into the final quarter.

The Saints scored 37 seconds into the fourth before four more Gray Wolf goals put the game out of reach, giving Lourdes a 17-4 lead. With Lourdes in front 19-5, Siena Heights tallied three goals in the final 1:11 for the game's final margin.

Tanner Jaramillo (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) added a tally in the win.

John Holowaty led Siena Heights with three goals.

Yoshino led Lourdes with eight groundballs while
Matt Ofner (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge H.S.) collected five ground balls.Â
Conner Mishler (Lambertville, Mich./Saint John's H.S.) made six saves in the win.

"We need to get a little rest this evening and be ready to go tomorrow," Yannarelli concluded.

Lourdes (14-2) advances to the championship game of the CCLA tournament on Saturday beginning at noon. The Gray Wolves will face Dayton, a winner over Grand Valley State in the second semifinal.
