Lourdes saw the winningest season in women's lacrosse history come to a close on Saturday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves suffered a 19-7 loss to third-ranked Lawrence Tech at the LTU Athletic Field in Southfield, Mich.

"This wasn't the end to the season that we had hoped for, but I am so proud of the progress we have made as a team this season, head coach
Alyssa Shaver said after the game. "I am very thankful for all of the hard work the seniors put in this year. They were key to helping us improve."

After the Blue Devils scored in the game's first minute,
Ashley Hunt (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May H.S.) evened the score 3:33 into the contest. Lawrence Tech then broke the game open, scoring seven times in the next 10 minutes to pull in front 8-1.

Tiara Reed (Maumee, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) scored twice and
Alyssa Long (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn H.S.) added another tally, but the Blue Devils scored the final six goals before halftime, taking a 16-4 lead into the break.

Reed scored three more times for the Gray Wolves in the second half, as Lourdes played even with Lawrence Tech (11-4, 4-2 WHAC) over the final 30 minutes, but was never able to mount a comeback bid.

Anna Gagnon and Isabelle Vickers each scored four times for Lawrence Tech, as the Blue Devils outshot Lourdes 36-19 for the game, including 28-16 on goal.Â
Kiley Ketteman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson H.S.) made nine saves for the Gray Wolves in the cage while Marie Klonowski made seven saves over the first 40 minutes and Dorie Coggin made two more stops to finish the game for the Blue Devils.

Lawrence Tech held a 22-18 edge in ground balls and 20-5 in draw controls. Ketteman led Lourdes with seven ground balls.

Lourdes finished the season over .500 for the first time in program history, posting an 8-7 record overall and a 2-4 mark in WHAC play. The Gray Wolves finished fifth in the final league standings.
