Cornerstone scored the lone goal of the match in the fourth minute on Saturday as the Golden Eagles defeated Lourdes 1-0 at the CU Soccer Stadium in Grand Rapids, Mich.
 
Jozlyn VanTol dribbled through the Gray Wolf defense into the box and found the back of the net just 3:09 into the contest
 
The Golden Eagles held an 11-4 shot advantage in the opening 45 minutes, including a 6-3 edge on goal.  Lourdes looked to even the match in the second stanza, outshooting Cornerstone 7-5, but was unable to find the equalizer. 
 
Cornerstone (10-4, 4-3 WHAC) had a slim 6-5 advantage in corner kick opportunities on the night.
 
Kerstyn Williams (Taylor, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) made seven saves in goal to keep the match close for the Gray Wolves while Mikayla Johnson had five stops for the Golden Eagles.
 
Lourdes (8-5, 4-3) will return to Wildcat Stadium on Wednesday evening, as the Gray Wolves host Madonna.  Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
