Taking to the road for the first time in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday afternoon, Lourdes dropped a 17-4 decision to 10
th-ranked Lawrence Tech at Harrison High School in Farmington, Mich.

Back-to-back goals by
Ashley Hunt (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May H.S.) and
Claire Austin (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston H.S.) put the Gray Wolves in front early, 2-1, just over three minutes into the contest.

Lawrence Tech went on an eight-goal run over the next 10 minutes to take control of the contest, building a 9-2 advantage.

Hannah Merrick (South Lyon, Mich./East H.S.) snapped the Blue Devils' string with a goal at the 13:17 mark of the opening half. Lawrence Tech responded with the next three tallies before
Tiara Reed's (Maumee, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) marker with 3:32 left before the break pulled Lourdes to within eight, 12-4 at halftime.

The Blue Devils did the only scoring in the second half, shutting out the Gray Wolves 5-0 over the final 30 minutes to secure the victory.

Lawrence Tech (3-6, 2-0 WHAC) finished with a 36-20 shot advantage over Lourdes, including a 26-15 edge on goal.Â
Jacque Pappadakes (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River H.S.) made nine saves in net for the Gray Wolves while Dorrie Coggin made 11 stops for the Blue Devils.

The hosts finished with a 14-8 advantage in draw controls and a 19-14 edge in ground balls on the day.Â

Lourdes (4-7, 1-1) will remain on the road Saturday afternoon, traveling to Livonia, Mich. to battle Madonna. The opening draw is set for noon at the Madonna Athletic Complex.
