Lourdes went 10 innings before falling 12-11 to host Ohio Christian on Saturday and suffered a 4-3 setback to Goshen in a game called due to darkness after six innings at the Softball Complex in Circleville, Ohio.
The Gray Wolves jumped in front 3-0 in the second inning of game one.
Ashley Riley (Oak Harbor, Ohio/Oak Harbor H.S.) had a RBI single and
Alyssa Ziegler (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold H.S.) drew a bases loaded walk in the inning.
The Trailblazers tied the game in the third before Lourdes put up four more runs in the fourth.
Hailey Cramer (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) had the big hit, a two-run single. Ohio Christian battled back again, scoring one in the fourth and three in the fifth to even the score.
The game headed to extra innings, where the international tie-breaker was in effect. Each team plated one in both the eighth and ninth innings, with
Megan Richardson (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) and
Kayla Gauthier (Linwood, Mich./Pinconning H.S.) delivering the RBI hits for the Gray Wolves.
Lourdes scored two in the 10
th on hits by Riley and
Ella Leonard (Lorain, Ohio/Midview H.S.), but a two-out error in the bottom of the frame allowed Ohio Christian (1-10) to score three times to rally for the win.
The Gray Wolves had 14 hits in the game, including three from Riley.
In game two against Goshen, the Gray Wolves fell behind 4-0 after four innings. Leonard delivered a RBI double in the fifth to put Lourdes on the scoreboard. An error and a hit by Ziegler in the sixth made it a 4-3 game and Lourdes had the bases loaded with just one out but was unable to even the score. The game was then called due to darkness.
Annalisse Palma (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview H.S.) had two of the Gray Wolves' nine hits in game two.
Lourdes (0-8) will return to the diamond on Sunday for two more games, facing Goshen at 12:30 p.m. and Ohio Christian in a 2:30 p.m. contest.
