After two days off from action, Lourdes returned to the diamond on Thursday morning, suffering a 2-0 setback to Spring Arbor and a 4-2 defeat to Trinity Christian at Fortune Road in Kissimmee, Fla.

"Our pitching staff put together some good performances today but our offense was stymied," head coach
Caitlin Blanchard said afterwards.

Spring Arbor (5-3) scored both runs in the first inning of the opener, taking advantage of four straight hits, including a home run.

Kirsten Smith (Marysville, Mich./Marysville H.S.) then allowed just four hits the rest of the way, striking out 10 in the complete game effort.Â

The Lourdes offense managed just three hits against Emmalee Hamp though.Â
Annalisse Palma (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview H.S.) had two, including a double, while
Ella Leonard (Lorain, Ohio/Midview H.S.) drew a pair of walks.

Trinity Christian (3-7) jumped in front with three runs in the second inning. The Trolls registered four hits in the inning and took advantage of an error to build the lead.

The Gray Wolves pulled to within one with a pair of runs in the third.Â
Elizabeth Chagolla (Toledo, Ohio/Start H.S.) and Palma had back-to-back one-out singles. After
Megan Richardson (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) drew an 11-pitch walk to load the bases. With two outs, Leonard singled to center, driving in a pair of runs.

The Trolls answered with a run in the fourth on a triple and single to conclude the scoring.

Palma finished with another two-hit game, while
Sophia Dauterman (Toledo, Ohio/Whiteford H.S.) came off the bench with a pair of hits as well as part of the team's six-hit effort.

Milena Applegate (Jerome, Mich./Lumen Christi H.S.) started and suffered the loss, allowing two earned runs and four hits in two innings of work.Â
Vivianna Gonzalez (Brownstown, Mich./Cabrini H.S.) yielded just one run on five hits in five innings of relief.

Lourdes (2-3) returns to Fortune Road on Friday afternoon for two more games. The Gray Wolves face eighth-ranked Indiana Wesleyan at 4 p.m. before battling Bethel (Ind.) at 6:15 p.m.
