Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Lourdes Season Concluded Thursday with Senior Night

The 2022 women's lacrosse season came to a close on Thursday evening for Lourdes as the Gray Wolves dropped a 25-6 decision to Madonna at Wildcat Stadium on Senior Night.

Prior to the game the Gray Wolves recognized Lexi Hunt (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May H.S.), Courtney Johnson (Millbury, Ohio/Lake H.S.), Emiliana Taylor (Granger, Ind./Saint Joseph H.S.), and Erin Manley (Ottawa Lake, Mich./Whiteford H.S.), all of whom concluded their collegiate careers on Thursday.

"I am very happy to have had the senior leadership that I had this season on the team," head coach Sierra Wagoner said afterwards.  "The seniors will be incredibly missed.  We are starting to thing about the offseason now and reflecting on how this team will grow into the future."

Lourdes struck first as Jordin Rawski (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) scored just 44 seconds into the game.  After Madonna tallied the next two goals, Amelia McCourt (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Bloomfield Hills H.S.) tied the game at two with her first of four goals on the night.

Madonna (8-5, 4-5 WHAC) scored the next 11 goals to take control before McCourt found the back of the net just before halftime.  The Crusaders held a 15-3 lead at the break.

McCourt started the scoring in the third before the Crusaders went on another 8-0 run.  McCourt and Rawski tallied back-to-back goals late in the fourth to conclude the Lourdes (2-8, 2-7) scoring.

Madonna outshot Lourdes 36-13 for the game and held an 11-7 edge in ground balls.  The Crusaders also had the advantage in draw controls 18-12.  Sarah Przyojski (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) had a team-high six draw controls on the night.
