After nearly two weeks off, Lourdes returned to the courts on Friday afternoon, dropping a 7-0 decision to Cornerstone in a make-up of a postponed match from last week at Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness in Grand Rapids, Mich.

"We started the season without opportunities in the points, and now we are creating them," head coach
Epifani Jones said afterwards.  "The loss on paper is an illusion compared to the amount of progress in the process. There's a lot to be proud of."

Cornerstone (17-2, 4-1 WHAC) opened the match winning the doubles points.  The Gray Wolves'
Mallory Schardt (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) and
Niki Polce (New Boston, Mich./Huron H.S.) fell 6-2 at the top spot while
Jordan Bucher (New Baltimore, Ohio/New Baltimore H.S.) and
Winter Richburg (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers H.S.) dropped a 6-0 match at number two.

Schardt played a close first set at number one doubles before falling 6-4, 6-0.
Antonella Caro (Brampton, Ont./Holy Cross Catholic Academy, at second singles, and Polce, at third singles, both fell 6-0, 6-0.  Bucher and Richburg dropped their fourth and fifth singles matches respectively by the same scores.

Lourdes (0-4, 0-4) will return to action on Monday to close out the home portion of the schedule with a make-up match against Concordia (Mich.).  First serve is set for noon at Shadow Valley.
