Final Results
Stefana Jelacic (Mesa, Ariz./Chandler H.S.) remained undefeated on the season Tuesday evening, but was the lone winner for Lourdes as the Gray Wolves fell 41-6 to fourth-ranked Campbellsville inside the Wrestling Facility in Campbellsville, Ky.
At 109 pounds, Jelacic, ranked eighth in the latest NAIA poll, needed just 26 seconds to pin the Tigers' Kelsey Bilz, who entered the match ranked 19
th nationally. The win improved Jelacic to 4-0 on the season and was the junior's third victory via fall.
"We came out against one of the best teams in the country tonight and found out why they are as great as they are,"
Louis Piszker said afterwards. "I hope we take something away from this and see what it takes to get to a high level like that. I am proud of Stefana for getting a big win and showing why she is a threat to get on the podium at nationals."
Julia Padilla (Covina, Calif./Northview H.S.) went the distance in her 136-pound match before falling in a 10-2 decision.
Campbellsville (15-4, 3-2 MSC) won two other matches via tech falls and recorded two more pins on the way to the victory.
"We will head back home and continue to get better and clean things up before Friday," Piszker concluded.
Lourdes (1-4, 0-3) returns to the mat on Friday afternoon, taking part in the Indiana Tech duals. The Gray Wolves will begin the day against Missouri Baptist before facing Life and Brewton Parker in Mid-South Conference matches. Lourdes concludes the day with a match against Davenport. Action is slated to begin at 2 p.m. in Fort Wayne, Ind.
