Lourdes returned to the mat on Friday afternoon, dropping all three of its duals to ranked opponents at the Indiana Tech Duals held inside the Doug Edgar Indoor Track Facility in Fort Wayne, Ind. The Gray Wolves fell 32-18 to 13
th-ranked Missouri Baptist, dropped a 51-6 decision to second-ranked Life and lost 41-15 to 14
th-ranked Brewton Parker.

"This was a great event for us to see some more solid competition before the conference tournament," head coach
Louis Piszker said afterwards. "We wrestled hard and were in some winnable matches that we fell short in unfortunately.Â

In the non-conference match against Missouri Baptist,
Brielle Newland (Reedsville, Ohio/Eastern H.S.) registered a 10-0 tech fall victory at 130 pounds while
Stefana Jelacic (Mesa, Ariz./Chandler H.S.) and
Bailey Hackett (Brookfield, Ohio/Brookfield H.S.) were both credited with forfeit wins at 109 and 170 pounds respectively.Â
Maria Hoffman (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) lost a tight 14-8 decision at 123 pounds to pick up a team point as well.

Against Life, Jelacic, ranked eighth in the NAIA earned a 10-0 tech fall win over sixth-ranked Jasmine Godinez at 109 pounds for the Gray Wolves' lone triumph in the match.Â
Julia Padilla (Covina, Calif./Northview H.S.) fell in an 11-1 tech fall at 136 pounds to 11
th-ranked Riley Dalrymple but still earned the team's other point in the dual.

Payton Curley (Dover, Ohio/Dover H.S.) scored a pin at 155 pounds in the match against Brewton Parker. Hoffman also earned a victory with a 10-4 decision at 123. Jelacic remained perfect after picking up another forfeit win at 109.

"Stefana getting a first period tech against the number six wrestler against Life is huge for her, and we will all look to build off of that as we get ready for the last match of the regular season on Friday," Piszker concluded.

Lourdes (1-7, 0-5 MSC) will return home to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center next Friday to close out the duel meet portion of the regular season, hosting 10
th-ranked Indiana Tech. The opening bout is set for 5 p.m.
