Lourdes scored a school-record 24 times while the defense recorded just the second shutout in program history on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves defeated Rochester (Mich.) 24-0 at Wildcat Stadium.
The Gray Wolves surpassed the previous mark of 23 goals set against Bethel (Ind.) on March 15, 2018. The only other shutout in program history was an 18-0 blanking of Concordia (Mich.) on April 7, 2018.
Lourdes scored eight times in the opening quarter and built a 15-0 lead at halftime. The Gray Wolves outshot Rochester (0-3, 0-3 WHAC) 39-7 overall for the day.
Maddie Wadesisi (Cleveland, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.), making her season debut in goal, stopped four shots on her way to the shutout.
Amelia McCourt (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Bloomfield Hills H.S.) scored eight times while
Sarah Przyojski (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) added four goals and three assists.
Sydney Duran (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) tallied her first four goals of the season as well.
Joelle Rawski (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) and
Jordin Rawski (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) each scored three times.
Kylie Turner (Ridgeway, Ohio/Ridgemont H.S.) also found the back of the cage, as did
Madie Stough (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Ursula Academy), who tallied her first collegiate goal.
Lourdes (3-3, 1-3 WHAC) continues its three-game homestand on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host Madonna. The opening draw is set for 1 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
