Lourdes returned home on Saturday morning and notched its third shutout of the season, defeating Olivet 3-0 at Wildcat Stadium.
The Gray Wolves defense did not allow the Comets to fire off a shot attempt on the day, outshooting Olivet 18-0 for the match as
Emmy Rodger (Romeo, Mich./Romeo H.S.) and
Samarah Arendsen (Zeeland, Mich./West H.S.) combined on the shutout in goal.
Lourdes got on the scoreboard with 11:13 to play before halftime.
Kayden Firsdon (Luckey, Ohio/Eastwood H.S.) fired a shot that ricocheted off of the crossbar and
Taylir Lynam (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) knocked in the rebound for what would become the match-winner.
Keira Boskovich (Clinton Township, Mich./Chippewa Valley H.S.) made it 2-0 Gray Wolves just 6:46 into the second half. With the Comets trying to clear the ball, she volleyed home the clearance attempt from distance.
Emily Wade (Wolverine Lake, Mich./Walled Lake Central H.S.) added the final insurance tally with 22:07 to play, creating a takeaway at the top of the box and firing from the left side for her first collegiate goal.
The Gray Wolves had all six corner kick opportunities in the contest and nine of the team's 18 shot attempts were on mark. Sarah Willard made five first half saves for Olivet (0-5) while Viveca Krolczyk made another late in the match.
Lourdes (3-2) closes out non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves entertain Goshen. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
