SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) – Lourdes University women's wrestling secured a dominant 34-14 victory over visiting John Carroll University in a home dual held inside the Franciscan Center Gymnasium on Friday evening. The Gray Wolves were led by standout performances from freshman Emma Rinehart and sophomore Katrina Cortez, whose victories played a key role in the team's success.
Emma Rinehart (131 pounds) had a quick and impressive victory, pinning Riley Duffey (John Carroll) in 0:00 to put Lourdes on the board early with a fall. Katrina Cortez (145 pounds) followed up with a commanding tech fall (10-0) over Jordan Palmer (John Carroll), contributing 4 points and continuing the momentum for the Gray Wolves.
Lourdes also benefited from several forfeits, as Shelby Moore (103), Stefana Jelacic (110), and Allie Phillips (207) all earned automatic victories. These forfeits, combined with strong individual performances, ensured the Gray Wolves cruised to a 34-14 victory.
