Lourdes wrapped up the home portion of its 2024 schedule on Wednesday afternoon, dropping a 16-10 decision to Siena Heights at Ottawa Hills High School.
Caden Louthan (Dripping Springs, Texas/Dripping Springs H.S.) scored three times and added an assist while
Hayden Barber (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) also had a four-point game with two goals and two helpers.
Kalani Hale (Charleston, W. Va./Capital H.S.) also had a multi-goal game for the Gray Wolves.
Hale scored the game's first goal before the Saints scored four straight in the opening quarter to take the lead for good. Louthan tallied a goal a man-down to close out the opening period before Siena Heights went on a run. The Saints scored the only three goals in the second quarter to build a 7-2 lead at the break.
Siena Heights (6-8, 3-4 WHAC) extended their run to 8-0 with the first five goals of the third quarter to push the lead to 10 before began a rally. Barber,
Garrett Boersma (Norco, Calif./Norco H.S.), and Barber all scored before the end of the period while Barber added another to open the fourth, pulling Lourdes to within six with just under 14 minutes to play.
Three goals by the Saints in less than two minutes allowed the hosts to add insurance as Lourdes finished the game scoring four of the final five goals in the final seven minutes of the contest.
Xander Slate (Stockton, Calif./Saint Mary's H.S.) made 15 saves in goal while
Dique Reid (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East H.S.) and Slate each had four ground balls in the game.
Lourdes (4-7, 1-6 WHAC) closes out the regular season on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves travel to Southfield, Mich. to battle Lawrence Tech. The opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m. at Blue Devils Stadium.
