SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University's women's wrestling team secured a 24-15 victory over Rochester Christian University on Friday evening inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center. The Gray Wolves capitalized on key performances and forfeits to earn the team win.
Stefana Jelacic set the tone for Lourdes with a dominant technical fall at 110 pounds, shutting out Julia Snyder 10-0. Emma Rinehart (124), Phylicia Sudario (138), Anessa Morgan (180), and Alysse Phillips (207) all picked up victories via forfeit to add crucial team points.
Desiree Vazquez (131) and the Gray Wolves suffered a setback as Anika Yakuber secured a pin for Rochester Christian, while Lourdes was forced to forfeit at 103 and 145 pounds. However, the team's depth proved key in securing the overall victory.
