SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) – Behind dominant pitching performances and timely hitting, the Lourdes University softball team secured its first two home wins of the season, sweeping Ohio Christian University 4-0 and 4-1 in Friday's home-opening doubleheader at Gray Wolf Field. The victories marked the first at home under head coach

Game 1: Lourdes 4, Ohio Christian 0
Kirsten Smith was stellar in the circle, tossing a complete-game two-hitter while striking out 11 as Lourdes (2-6) shut out Ohio Christian (6-7) in the opener. Smith allowed just two baserunners on the day, keeping the Trailblazers off balance throughout.
The Gray Wolves wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, plating three runs in the bottom of the first. Lindsey McGann led the charge, scoring twice while driving in one, while Taylor Leggins added two RBIs. Lourdes tacked on an insurance run in the fifth as Olivia Hickman's single set up a sacrifice fly from Lauren Schuller.
Lourdes outhit Ohio Christian 11-2 in the contest, with Brooke Albert leading the way, going 3-for-4 with a double.
Game 2: Lourdes 4, Ohio Christian 1
Mallori Bradley followed Smith's dominant outing with one of her own, striking out nine in a complete-game five-hitter, leading Lourdes to a 4-1 victory in game two.
The Gray Wolves once again struck early, pushing across a run in the first inning. The game remained tight until the bottom of the sixth, when Lourdes capitalized on key at-bats to plate three runs, highlighted by an RBI double from Hickman and a sacrifice fly from Leggins.
Ohio Christian managed to scratch across a run in the top of the sixth, but Bradley shut the door in the seventh to secure the sweep.
Hickman led the offensive effort with a pair of hits and an RBI, while Jessyca Smith, Albert, and Abby Sparks each contributed a hit.
