Lourdes University women's soccer opened Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play in style on Wednesday, shutting out Indiana Tech 4-0 on the road behind a pair of goals from
Taylir Lynam.
The Gray Wolves (3-2, 1-0 WHAC) struck in the 28th minute when Lynam finished a pass from
Jaylyn Thornton to put Lourdes on top 1-0. Just three minutes later,
Kennedy Hollerbach doubled the advantage with a goal off a feed from
Zoey Trout in the 31st minute.
Lynam added her second tally in the 66th minute, rising for a header on a cross sent in from near midfield to extend the lead to 3-0.
Jaylyn Thornton closed out the scoring in the 75th minute, finding the back of the net off a setup from
Sophia Larabee.
Samarah Arendsen recorded the shutout in goal as Lourdes controlled the pace of play from start to finish.
The Gray Wolves return home on Saturday, Sept. 27, to host Cornerstone in another WHAC matchup at Wildcat Stadium.
