Women’s team breaks personal and team program records

ALLEN PARK, Mich. - Lourdes men's and women's bowling both earned spots in the WHAC Conference Championships after placing in the top-8 in the fourth league event of the season on Saturday.

The Gray Wolves men team squeaked ahead of the cut, finishing eighth out of 12 teams with a 186.03 team average, two points better than ninth-place Siena Heights.

The Gray Wolves women's team finished in fourth out of 12 teams with a 184.74 team average, just over eight points below first-place Indiana Tech.

Individually, Brenden Staton led Lourdes' men's squad with a 636 final score, good enough for 25th place individually in the open.

On the women's side, sophomore Cassandra Kieper tied a Lourdes women's program record with a 278 third game. Her 624 series placed her 7th in the open. Also finishing in the top-10 was freshman Veronica Flanagan, who once again had a phenomenal afternoon, bowling a 609 and coming in 10th.

The women's team also broke a single game program record with a 1051 game three, shattering the previous record by 11 pins.
