Agnes Abu joined the Lourdes University cross country and track and field programs as an assistant coach in the fall of 2019.
Abu was a standout runner at Middle Tennessee State University. She was an eight-time Conference USA champion and set school records in the indoor 800m and indoor mile along with the outdoor 1500m. She earned Second Team All-American honors three times during her collegiate career.
Abu was named the Raiders’ Choice Awards Female Newcomer of the Year in 2017 and was also a member of the C-USA All-Academic Team for her efforts in the classroom.
A native of Ghana, she holds her country’s national records in the mile, 1500m, and indoor 800m, where her personal best is 2:00.75.
Abu is a 2018 graduate of Middle Tennessee State with a bachelor’s degree in public health.
