Lourdes University Athletics

Carlos Matta joined Lourdes University’s men’s lacrosse staff as an assistant coach in August of 2019.  His first season with the Gray Wolves was limited to just two games due to COVID-19.

Matta arrived at Lourdes from West Ranch High School in Santa Clarita, Calif., where he had served as the boys head coach since 2016.  In 2018, Matta also served as an assistant coach for the school’s girls’ team as the defensive coordinator.

Along with his high school coaching career, Matta oversaw the formation of a club program, High Tide Lacrosse in Santa Clarita, Calif.

Matta played collegiately at Indiana Tech, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2016.
