Epifani Jones

Epifani Jones was hired as the Lourdes University head men’s and women’s tennis coach in August of 2021.

Jones led the Gray Wolf men’s squad to its first winning record in program history in 2022-2023, setting a school record with 11 victories.  Her women’s team also won a school best seven matches that same season.

She coached the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Player of the Week in program history on the men’s side in 2021-2022 and has now produced four during her tenure at Lourdes.  On the women’s side, she has also had three players earn WHAC Player of the Week accolades.

Jones was named the WHAC Champions of Character Coach for the women in 2021-2022.

Five of Jones’ men have been honored as members of the WHAC All-Academic Team for their efforts in the classroom with three earning NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors. 
 
Jones arrived at Lourdes from Maumee Valley Country Day School, where she has supervised tennis operations for the Hawks since 2017. She served as the Upper School coach for both the boys and girls varsity and junior varsity teams. Additionally, Jones managed summer activities and camp experiences for all ages and levels and is in development of the first middle school program at Maumee Valley Country Day.
 
Prior to Maumee Valley, Jones was a tennis professional for nearly 20 years in the Greater Metropolitan Atlanta area.  As a player herself, she turned professional in 1992 and spent five years on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour.  She reached career high rankings in the top-200 in both singles and doubles and won six titles on four continents.  In addition, she played in a pair of Grand Slam events.
 
Jones was a standout at Purdue University, where she holds the school record with 123 career singles victories as well as the single season mark with 37 wins in 1988-1989.  She was a four-time All-Big Ten selection for the Boilermakers.
 
Jones is a 1991 graduate of Purdue where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, majoring in advertising.  She also received a Certification in Voice Over from Clayton State University in 2013.
