Paul Sieben was named the first women’s lacrosse coach at Lourdes University in 2013, charged with creating the program from scratch.

 

He enters the 2017 season, his fourth with the Gray Wolves, with an 11-35 record both at Lourdes and in his collegiate coaching career.

 

Sieben was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2016 after guiding the Gray Wolves to a spot in the conference tournament for the first time in program history.  Lourdes won a school record six games during his third season at the helm.

 

While at Lourdes, Sieben has produced a Second Team and Honorable Mention All-American in the National Women’s Lacrosse League.  In addition, he has had one First Team All-WHAC performer as well as five Honorable Mention All-WHAC selections.  His student-athletes have also performed well in the classroom, as five players have been named to the WHAC All-Academic Team.

 

Sieben has been involved in lacrosse for more than 35 years in all aspects of the game, including a player, coach, and official.  He arrived at Lourdes from St. Ursula Academy in Toledo, where he started the girls’ lacrosse program in 1999.  During his 14 years with the Arrows, St. Ursula has won seven straight Toledo City League championships and advanced to the state quarterfinals and semifinals numerous times.
 
Prior to St. Ursula, Sieben was instrumental in starting youth lacrosse programs in Columbus, Ohio, as well as on Long Island in New York. 
 
The coach of the North Coast Ohio National Team for three years, Sieben also was the North Coast All-American chairman for three years.  He serves on the board of the United States Lacrosse North Coast Chapter.  He has guided 60 Academic All-Americans during his coaching career as well as five BCSN All-City players.
 
Sieben has conducted numerous clinics on the game of lacrosse for boys and girls as well as coaches.  He is a certified Level I and Level II coach.  He has served as the chair of the NWLL awards committee for the past two seasons.
 
Sieben is a 1970 graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y., earning his bachelor’s degree in architecture.  He is a licensed architect.
