Bobby Johnson was named the Lourdes University men's and women's head tennis coach in May of 2019, charged with beginning the programs from scratch.  In year one, only the Gray Wolves’ women’s team competed.

During his first season with the Gray Wolves, Johnson had a player named Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Player of the Week.  He also had one student-athlete earn both WHAC All-Academic Team honors as well as NAIA Scholar-Athlete accolades.
 
Johnson arrived at Lourdes after serving as the head boys and girls coach at Rossford High School.  Previously, Johnson had served as an assistant coach for Waite High School, where he helped with the doubles teams.
 
Johnson has coached United States Tennis Association (USTA) 18 and over tennis since 2013 and run a kids camp for the Navarre Park Tennis Association since 2015.  In 2017, Johnson was honored the William T. Rathbun Award for the promotion of tennis in the Toledo area.  He is a certified member of the Professional Tennis Registry.
