Majd Ali joined the Lourdes University women’s soccer program as an assistant coach in 2024, following a successful volunteer stint with the team in the fall of 2023. With a strong commitment to player development and team success, Ali brings a wealth of coaching experience to the program.
In 2023, Ali also took on the role of an Ohio ODP coach, further expanding his influence in youth soccer. He has been a dedicated coach at Pacesetter Soccer Club since 2020, where he currently serves as the Youth Director. Under his guidance, the U16 girls GLA team reached the state cup final in 2021, while his U12 boys Pre-ECNL team won the state cup.
Prior to his time at Pacesetter, Ali was the head coach of the Sylvania Southview girls' soccer team from 2013 to 2022. During his nine years in that role, he led the Cougars to significant achievements, including being named D1 District Head Coach of the Year in 2016 and 2022, and securing the school’s first-ever Northern Lakes League title in 2022. He initially joined Southview as a volunteer coach in 2012.
Born and raised in Kuwait, Ali played soccer at The American School of Kuwait, where he captained the varsity team during his junior and senior years. He also played for Al-Yarmouk Club’s U-16 team for three years before signing a professional contract at the age of 16, competing with the first team.
In 2008, Ali moved to the United States to attend the University of Toledo, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance with Cum Laude honors while also playing for the university soccer team.
Ali holds a USSF D license, a professional development certificate for college coaching, and a special topics diploma in coaching direction. He plans to pursue a USSF C license to continue enhancing his coaching qualifications.
