Sam Morris was hired at Lourdes for the role of Sports Information Director in December of 2025. He is in charge of strategic communications for all 20 Gray Wolves’ varsity collegiate sports programs.
Morris’ responsibilities at Lourdes include setting up, operating and executing gameday events, inputting and calling live play-by-play stats, producing event livestreams, managing various sports social media accounts, writing game recaps, press releases and feature stories, nominating WHAC and NAIA players of the week, writing public address announcer scripts, editing and updating the athletics website, and leading a team of over a dozen communications interns and part-time staff.
Morris comes to Lourdes after interning with the University of Toledo athletic communications department in the fall of 2025. He inputted stats for the MAC Tournament Champion Rockets volleyball team as well as the Toledo soccer team. He was also a PA spotter for the football season, a stat caller for the basketball programs and worked on the inaugural season for the Toledo women’s rowing crew.
Prior to his internship with Toledo, Morris worked as a student reporter for the Falcon Media Sports Network in the winter and spring of 2025. He was FMSN’s beat reporter for the Bowling Green gymnastics team and also worked heavily covering the BGSU swimming and women’s basketball programs.
Morris got his start in sports information as a student intern with the Bowling Green strategic communications department from 2022 to 2024. He primarily worked with their world-renowned ice hockey program.
Morris graduated from Bowling Green State University in December of 2025 with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in Journalism. He is originally from Madison Heights, Michigan.
