Lourdes University's Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) has been invited to participate in the 2018 United States Women's National Team Open Tryout from March 2-4 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
 
A total of 234 athletes from 89 colleges are competing for spots with the U.S. Women's National Team and U.S. Collegiate National Team programs.
 
"We are excited to have her go out and get the experience to compete with such high-level caliber of athletes," head coach Greg Reitz said.  "It will get a great experience for her and we think she can do well out there."
 
Dippold, a First Team All Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference pick in 2017, is one of 48 liberos at the event.  The sophomore ranks second all-time for the Gray Wolves with 1,048 digs through two seasons, and set the school's single season digs mark with 597 this past season. 
 
Each athlete will have one tryout session on Friday, one morning and afternoon session on Saturday and one morning session on Sunday.
 
Three-time Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Olympic Hall of Famer Karch Kiraly and the U.S. Women's National Team staff will lead the tryout process.
