Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
Cornerstone limited Lourdes to just two hits in each game on Wednesday afternoon as the Golden Eagles defeated the Gray Wolves 2-0 and 2-1 at the Farmers Complex in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Golden Eagles picked up an unearned run in the second inning of game one to take the lead and added an insurance tally with a single and a double in the fifth to plate the only runs of the game.

Heidi Warmelink limited Lourdes to just two hits in the win (16-1), striking out four while not walking anyone.  A leadoff single by Hayley Roberts (Brownstown, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) in the fifth and a lead-off single in the sixth by Leah Silvestri (Navarre, Ohio/Fairless H.S.) accounted for  the Gray Wolves' total offense.

Casey Cherry (Comstock Park, Mich./Comstock Park H.S.) was solid in the circle for Lourdes despite taking the loss (6-9).  She scattered six hits and allowed just one earned run while striking out three.

Cornerstone (26-4, 10-2 WHAC) scored a pair of runs in the opening inning of game two taking advantage of a Lourdes error.

Bre Megyesi (Whitehouse, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) hit her sixth home run of the season in the fourth inning to cut Lourdes deficit in half, but the Gray Wolves could not tally another hit the rest of the way.

Ashley Yeager (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) had the Gray Wolves' only other hit, a one out single in the opening inning.

Rachel Nelson earned the win (9-3) for the Golden Eagles, striking out 10 while walking just one.  Kasey Graham (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) suffered the tough-luck loss (4-12), not allowing an earned run and giving up just seven hits.  She did not walk anyone and struck out four.
