Lourdes continued its best start in program history on Tuesday evening, forcing 28 Kuyper turnovers on the way to a 93-44 victory over the Cougars at Tam-o-Shanter.

The Gray Wolves dominated in the paint, outscoring Kuyper 64-12, while capitalizing off of the turnovers, turning them into 32 points.  Lourdes also controlled the boards, outrebounding the Cougars 60-31, including a 28-7 advantage on the offensive end.

"We set some goals as a team prior to the game and I thought we did a pretty good job of accomplishing a lot of them," head coach Karen McConnell stated.  "We also were able to spread out our minutes and see some different combinations on the court tonight."

Lourdes took control of the game early, racing out to a 21-6 lead just over eight minutes into the contest.  The Cougars pulled to within 11 with under 10 minutes to play before intermission before the Gray Wolves went on another 14-2 run to build a 23-point advantage.  Kuyper cut into its deficit before halftime before Lourdes took a 46-27 lead into the locker room.

After the Cougars scored the first basket of the second half, Lourdes tallied the next 11 points to push the lead to 28.  The Gray Wolf defense held Kuyper without a field goal for nearly 10 minutes as part of another 24-1 run, pushing the lead to 87-36 with 3:38 to play before coasting to the finish.

Lauren Tilden (Ravenna, Ohio/Ravenna H.S.) led four Gray Wolves in double figures with 16 points while also tallying four steals defensively.  Jesse Fidler (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold H.S.) added 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting while Emily Orsini (Akron, Ohio/Archbishop Hoban H.S.) nearly registered a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.  Molea Thompson (Mansfield, Ohio/Madison H.S.) contributed 11 points, six assists, and four steals in just 18 minutes of play.

"In each game we have won we have had four players tally double figures," McConnell added.  "This gives us some good momentum heading into conference play this weekend.

Lourdes shot 45.6% from the floor on the evening while attempting 90 shots in the contest.  The Gray Wolves also handed out 21 assists while committing just 12 turnovers.

Mikeal Wilder led Kuyper (1-2) with 16 points while McKenzie McCord added 13 points.  The Cougars connected on just 30.9% of its attempts, going 0-for13 from three-point range in the second half.

Lourdes (4-1) will conclude its brief two-game homestand on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play hosting Michigan-Dearborn.  Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. at Tam-o-Shanter.
