Lourdes University's competitive cheer team finished in 12
th place after Saturday's finals at the 2014 NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance National Invitational held at Abe Lemons Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Gray Wolves posted a finals score of 74.03, improving from Friday's preliminary mark of 72.83.
"It was a great experience to appear at the first NAIA Cheer and Dance National Invitational," head coach
Ori Rife stated. "Competing next to the best teams in the nation was a real learning experience. The support we received from our community this season has helped our journey and we were able to improve our score from day one which was our team goal."
Oklahoma City was crowned national champion with a score of 92.67 while Saint Gregory's was runner-up with a total of 91.46. Lourdes finished just behind 11
th place finisher Siena Heights, which finished with a score of 76.50.
