Battling a nationally-ranked opponent for the first time in program history, Lourdes dropped a 2-0 decision to #2 Northwestern Ohio at Racers Field in Lima, Ohio on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Northwestern Ohio (9-2-2, 5-0 WHAC) outshot Lourdes 35-2 on the afternoon, including a 19-0 advantage in the second half, but Erika Brinkman (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida H.S.) made 11 saves to keep the Gray Wolves in the match.
 
The Racers opened the scoring in the 14^th minutes as Matild Christiansen took a through pass from Pauline Quesson and slid the ball by Brinkman.
 
In the 57^th minute, Klara Cahynova took advantage of a Lourdes turnover at the top of the 18, and scored the insurance goal for the Racers.
 
Lourdes (5-6-1, 2-3) will continue its three-match road trip on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves head to Cardinal Field in Ann Arbor, Mich. to battle Concordia (Mich.).  Kickoff is slated for noon.
