For the first time ever in Grand Rapids, Mich., and just the second time overall, Lourdes earned a victory over Davenport on Friday evening, defeating the Panthers 25-13, 25-16, 18-25, 25-17 at the DU Student Center to improve to 15-0 on the season.

"We started off well in most of the sets, had a little lull, and then got better," head coach
Greg Reitz stated after the match. "We didn't hit as well as we have been. We seemed to hit into too many blocks tonight."

Stephanie Ruffing (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty H.S.) paced the Gray Wolves with 17 kills while hitting .485 on the night. She tallied a double-double with 11 digs as well.Â
Molly Shonk (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley H.S.) and
Ave Stout (Huntertown, Ind./Bishop Luers H.S.) each added 11 kills, with Stout hitting .381 and Shonk tallying 21 digs.

Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) also added a double-double, handing out 47 assists to go along with 12 digs.Â
Michi Jimenez (Vega Baja, P.R./Juan Quirindongo Morell H.S.) added 17 digs defensively.

Leading just 12-8 in the opening set, Lourdes went on a 10-0 run behind Ruffing's service game. The Gray Wolves hit .344 in the set while holding Davenport to a -.086 hitting percentage.

The Gray Wolves were behind 7-2 early in the second before a 16-4 run allowed Lourdes to take control of the set and build a 2-0 lead in the match.Â

Davenport (11-12, 5-5 WHAC) hit .382 with just one error in the third to stay alive in the match, using a 7-1 run midway through the set to take the lead for good.

Lourdes took control early in the fourth set to close out the match. The Gray Wolves built a quick 10-4 lead while hitting .312 in the stanza.

Molly Lameyer led the Panthers with 12 kills while Emma Matthew had 12 digs for Davenport.
