Lourdes stepped out of conference for the final time in 2015 on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 5-0 match to Indiana Wesleyan at Wildcat Field in Marion, Ind.
The Wildcats started the scoring 14:45 into the match as Katie Pannabecker converted a penalty kick. Tia Sanford made it 2-0 Indiana Wesleyan before halftime, heading home a ball after receiving a feed from Kerry Devney.
Annie McCarty made it 3-0 hosts just 23 seconds into the second half, scoring on a cross from Katilin Gishwiller. Gishwiller scored a goal of her own in the 65
th minute before Megan Welch capped the scoring at the 78:47 mark following Devney's second assist of the match.
Indiana Wesleyan (5-5-1) outshot Lourdes 18-8 on the afternoon, including an 11-2 advantage on goal. The Wildcats also had four of the six corner kick opportunities in the match.
Erika Brinkman (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida H.S.) made six saves in goal for the Gray Wolves while Alex Seabeck made two second half stops for the Wildcats.
Lourdes (4-4-1) will return to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening, traveling to Grand Rapids, Mich. to face Cornerstone. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Cornerstone Soccer Stadium.
