Concordia (Mich.) made 11 three-point field goals on Wednesday evening as the Cardinals defeated Lourdes 71-61 at Cardinal Fieldhouse in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The Cardinals connected on 50% of their triple tries, offsetting a 6-of-10 shooting night from long range by Lourdes. Concordia shot 51.2% from the floor overall on the evening in the win.

Lourdes trailed from the onset as the Cardinals scored the game's first eight points, but closed to within four, 36-32, at halftime as a three-pointer by
Anthony Swanigan (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike H.S.) beat the intermission buzzer.Â

The Gray Wolves tied the game three times in the second half, pulling even for the final time at 49-49, but was never able to take the lead. A 10-0 run by Concordia late in the final stanza allowed the Cardinals to take the lead for good.

Zach Steinmetz (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) led the way for Lourdes with 22 points, making 8-of-10 from the field, while also grabbing a team-leading eight rebounds.Â
E.J. Blackwell (Rochester, Pa./Rochester H.S.) added 16 points for the Gray Wolves.

Alec Turner led four Concordia (4-1, 2-0 WHAC) players in double figures with 15 points while Jerald Booker added 12 points while handing out five assists off of the bench.

Lourdes (3-2, 0-2) will remain on the road Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. to battle Aquinas. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center.
