Photo GalleryAfter shooting better 64% from the floor in the opening 20 minutes, Lourdes saw Spring Arbor turn the tables in the second half as the Cougars rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat the Gray Wolves 87-68 on Tuesday evening at the SAU Fieldhouse in Spring Arbor, Mich.

The Cougars took advantage of 15 turnovers from Lourdes, turning them into 30 points at the other end of the floor. Lourdes shot just 25.7% from the field in the second half while Spring Arbor connected at a 65.7% clip to finish the night shooting 56.9% overall.

Lourdes scored nine of the game's first 11 points and increased its lead to 18-7 just over seven minutes into the contest after a jumper by
Zach Steinmetz (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) as the senior scored eight of the team's first 18 points.

Spring Arbor (6-6) responded, slowly climbing back into the game, and pulled within two, 29-27, only to see Lourdes rebuild its advantage and take a 40-32 lead into the locker room.

A 19-2 run by the hosts over the first six-and-a-half minutes of the second half propelled Spring Arbor into a nine-point lead. The Cougars continued to extend the run, as Lourdes went over seven minutes without a field goal. The run reached 32-5 midway through the second half as Spring Arbor took a 64-45 lead and never allowed the Gray Wolves back into the game.

Steinmetz led Lourdes with 25 points and seven rebounds while
Anthony Swanigan (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike H.S.) added 18 points.Â
E.J. Blackwell (Rochester, Pa./Rochester H.S.) added 14 points for the Gray Wolves while
Julian Johnson (Columbus, Ohio/Horizon H.S.) handed out eight assists without committing a turnover.

Zach Mendendorp led Spring Arbor with 20 points and six boards while Peter Barry added 16 points. Luke Barber came off of the bench to score 11 points for the Cougars.

Lourdes (6-6) will remain on the road Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves head to Indianapolis, Ind. to face fourth-ranked and undefeated Marian (12-0). Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. at the Marian Physical Education Center.
