Lourdes returned to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening, dropping an 18-5 decision to second-ranked Davenport at the DU Turf Field in Grand Rapids, Mich.

"The score didn't show the true intensity of this game," head coach
Paul Sieben said after the contest.  "Our defensive played very strong, shutting down some of their big scorers."

Davenport jumped on top quickly, scoring a pair of goals in the first 1:08 of the game.
Faith Fisher (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) cut the Lourdes deficit in half, scoring on a free position shot six minutes into the contest.

The Panthers tallied five of the next six goals before halftime, with
Mackenzie Moriarty (Roseville, Minn./Roseville H.S.) tallying the Gray Wolves second goal of the game, as Davenport took a 7-2 lead into halftime.

The hosts increased the lead to nine with the first four goals of the second half before Fisher scored her second goal of the game.
Katie Cerveny (Erie, Mich./Mason Senior H.S.) and Fisher added the final two goals of Lourdes in the last 15 minutes.

Paige VanWieren scored four times to lead Davenport (4-0, 3-0 WHAC) while Jessica Lemcke and Hanna Bush added three goals each.

The Panthers outshot Lourdes 27-8 for the night.

Margaret Janiga (East Aurora, N.Y./Nichols H.S.) made three first half saves for Lourdes while
Kiley Ketteman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson H.S.) made one second half stop.

Lourdes (2-4, 0-4) will remain on the road Friday evening as the Gray Wolves face ninth-ranked Siena Heights.  The opening draw is set for 7 p.m. at O'Laughlin Stadium in Adrian, Mich.
