Upcoming in Gray Wolves Softball: After the first 10 games of the 2015 season were cancelled due to snow, the Lourdes softball team will finally open the campaign this weekend with six games in four days.  Lourdes will host Albion on Friday in a twinbill before heading to Cleary on Saturday afternoon.  Findlay will visit Pacesetter Park on Monday for a pair of games.

Head Coach Jo Ann Gordon: In her third season on the Lourdes bench, Jo Ann Gordon has a 25-51 (.329) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In her 13th season overall as a head softball coach, Gordon has a 177-339 (.347) career mark.  She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes has never met Albion or Cleary on the softball diamond.  The Gray Wolves are 0-2 against Findlay after the Oilers swept a doubleheader from Lourdes 9-0 and 12-4 on April 8, 2014 in Findlay, Ohio.  This will mark the Oilers first appearance at Pacesetter Park.

Wrapping Up 2014: Lourdes posted a 13-27 record overall and a 6-12 mark in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play one season ago.  The Gray Wolves finished in seventh place in the league standings and fell to Madonna and Concordia (Mich.) in the conference tournament.  As a team Lourdes batted .252 while the pitching staff notched a 4.62 earned run average.  Defensively the Gray Wolves had a .931 fielding percentage.

Scouting Albion: The Brittons have been idle since March 12 when they finished their spring trip with a 9-0 loss to Carroll (Wis.) in Winter Haven, Fla., but Albion has won two of its last three games.  Monica Brugnoni leads the team batting .353 with seven runs batted in while Alice Garvin is hitting at a .280 clip.  In the circle, Ashley Butler is 1-4 with a 5.50 ERA while Brugnoi sports a 2-3 record and a 7.85 ERA.

Scouting Cleary: The Cougars are coming off of a doubleheader split at Franklin on Sunday, dropping the opener 10-2 while winning game two 13-10.  Cleary is in the first year of its softball program and season statistics are not available for the Cougars.

Scouting Findlay: The Oilers have won eight of their last 10 games following a doubleheader sweep at Cedarville on Tuesday afternoon.  Findlay hosts Madonna for a pair of games on Saturday before visiting Lourdes on Monday.  Katie Dunphy leads the team batting .385 with seven runs batted in while Brooke Scherger is hitting at a .372 clip.  In the circle, four Oiler hurlers have combined for a 2.40 earned run average while limiting opponents to a .237 batting average.

Schedule Change: Lourdes' scheduled game at Adrian has been moved from April 27 to April 6.  The doubleheader will still begin at 3 p.m. at the AC Softball Field in Adrian, Mich.

Lourdes in Season Openers: Lourdes is 1-1 in season openers dating back to 2013, the program's inaugural campaign.  The Gray Wolves lost the first game in program history, 7-6 in nine innings, on March 3, 2013 to Clarke in Clermont, Fla.  Last year, Lourdes won its season opener, downing Ave Maria 14-2, also in Florida.

Home Openers: Lourdes is also 1-1 all-time in home openers, with March 20 marking the earliest home start in program history.  The Gray Wolves fell to Davenport 6-1 in their first home game on April 7, 2013 before downing Northwestern Ohio 2-1 on April 5, 2014.

First Team All-WHAC Selection Returns: Lourdes returns First Team All-WHAC selection Alyssa Schaub for her senior season.  Schaub led the Gray Wolves with a .360 batting average, hitting four home runs and posting a .577 slugging percentage.  She stole 21 bases in 24 attempts.

Other League Awards: Bre Megyesi and Hayley Roberts both earned Honorable Mention All-WHAC honors and return for Lourdes in 2015.  Megyesi batted .316 with four homers, seven triples, and 36 runs batted in while Roberts was a .302 hitter with 19 RBI.

A New Look Pitching Staff: Sam Merillat is the lone returnee to Lourdes pitching staff for 2015.  She logged just 20.2 innings in 10 appearances during her sophomore campaign.  She will be joined by freshmen Brooke Gallaher and Samantha Shirling in the circle for this season.

More New Faces: In addition to Samantha Shirling and Brooke Gallaher, the Gray Wolves have also added freshmen Jaime Newman and Taylor Tafelski to the roster for the upcoming season.  The four rookies join 13 returnees to comprise the 2015 roster.

This and That: Lourdes is 9-13 all-time at Pacesetter Park and 8-20 on the road in program history ... the Gray Wolves are 2-3 in extra innings after going 1-2 in 2014 ...
