Fourth-ranked Grove City scored nine first quarter goals on Saturday afternoon on the way to a 17-5 victory over 23
rd-ranked Lourdes at Thorn Field in Grove City, Pa.
The Gray Wolves fell behind 9-1 after one quarter and trailed 12-2 at halftime before playing nearly even with the Wolverines in the second half.
"Grove City is a very good team that is well coached with solid on-field leadership and they outplayed us in most categories," head coach
Patrick Yannarelli said after the game. "I feel our young team fought until the final whistle and as a coach that is what I am judging. I have to work harder to get them better prepared for the next game and if they decide to push each other harder in practice and continue to compete for 60 minutes each game we will keep building."
Dalton Vowles (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) scored twice for Lourdes while
Danny Bichsel (Westerville, Ohio/North H.S.),
Jared Yoshino (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.), and
