Lourdes and Taylor played 90 minutes of scoreless soccer on Saturday evening at Wildcat Stadium, but the Trojans find the back of the net midway through overtime to defeat the Gray Wolves 1-0.

"Unfortunately we didn't make the most of our opportunities we had," head coach
Jackie Donovan stated after the match. "We can't fault the girls. They are continuing to work and grow together and we continue to raise our standards."

Lourdes outshot Taylor (4-3-1) in the opening half 7-5 and had the best scoring opportunity in the stanza, but
Jada Foster's (Lenox Township, Mich./Anchor Bay H.S.) shot from point blank range inside of the six was turned aside by Trojans' netminder Lauren Engelkes.

Taylor outshot Lourdes 8-3 in the second half, and held a 5-2 edge in shots on goal through 90 minutes, but most of the efforts were from distance.

Courtney Selle sent a cross through the box and Shelbi Lowe got a head on the pass and found the back of the goal 5:20 into the extra session to give the Trojans the overtime win.

The Trojans finished with a 15-10 edge in shots for the match while Lourdes had the only four corner kick opportunities in the contest. Engelkes made two saves for Taylor in goal while
Erika Brinkman (Kalida,Ohio/Kalida H.S.) made six stops for the Gray Wolves.

Lourdes (2-2-1) will remain home on Wednesday afternoon, hosting Cleary at Wildcats Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
