th straight victory with a 25-15, 25-9, 25-10 triumph over the University of Northwestern Ohio at Owens Community College in Perrysburg, Ohio.

The victory was the Gray Wolves first ever against the Racers, and kept the Gray Wolves tied atop the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference standings with Madonna at 7-0.

"We played really well tonight," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "I was really pleased with the level at which we played. We have been training at that level in practice and it was nice to transfer it over to a match."

Lourdes committed just five attack errors the entire night while posting a 42-16 kill advantage in the match on the way to hitting .481. The Gray Wolves held Northwestern Ohio to a -.041 hitting efficiency and outblocked the Racers 11-1.

"Our hitting was outstanding due to great passing and nice choices setting the ball," Reitz added.

The opening set was close with Lourdes in front just 13-9 before a 9-3 run opened things up. The Gray Wolves hit .400 in the stanza, their lowest hitting set of the night.

In the second set the service of
Lexie Curtis (Toledo, Ohio/Bedford H.S.),
Stephanie Ruffing (Columbus, Ohio/Olentagy Liberty H.S.), and
Stef Comte (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame H.S.) keyed an 18-3 spurt that put the Gray Wolves on top 19-4. The trio combined for four aces and the team hit .524 in the set while holding the Racers to a -.176 clip.

In the final set, Lourdes committed just one offensive miscue on 26 swings and registered 15 kills in cruising to the win. Comte again led a 7-0 spurt with her service while ending the night with three aces.

Ruffing led the Gray Wolves with a double-double, tallying 11 kills and 10 digs while hitting .588 for the match.Â
Ave Stout (Huntertown, Ind./Bishop Luers H.S.) and
Stephanie Richards (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) each added nine kills, with Stout doing so on just 12 swings for a .750 hitting percentage.

Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) handed out 37 assists over the three sets.

Molly Shonk (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley H.S.) added 10 digs and five blocks, while Comte also tallied five blocks.

Nora Fa'atiga led Northwestern Ohio (6-13, 2-5 WHAC) with four kills while Cierra Andrerson had 10 digs.

Lourdes (12-0, 7-0 WHAC) will look to extend its streak to 13 consecutive matches on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves face Cornerstone. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at the Student Health and Activities Center on the Owens campus.
