Jada Foster's (Lenox Township, Mich./Anchor Bay H.S.) goal with 2:04 remaining before halftime proved to be the difference on Saturday afternoon in Lourdes' Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference debut as the Gray Wolves defeated Davenport 1-0 at Farmers Athletics Complex in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Foster's goal, her fifth of the season, also marked her third match-winner for the Gray Wolves.Â
Kendyl Christian (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) fired the initial shot which was saved by Tara Gessler, but Foster was there for the rebound and score.

Jackie Donovan said. "The girls were disciplined with their shape and made the most of their opportunities. I was very proud of them today."

In goal,
Erika Brinkman (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida H.S.) made four saves to notch her fourth shutout on the year while lowering her goals against average to 0.54 and improving her save percentage to .895 in her senior campaign.

Lourdes outshot the Panthers 13-10 for the match, including a 6-4 advantage on goal. The Gray Wolves also had four corner kicks in the contest while surrendering just two to Davenport.

Gessler made five saves in the loss for the Panthers.

The win for Lourdes was its fourth in the Gray Wolves' last five matches.

Lourdes (4-2-1, 1-0) will return home to Wildcat Stadium on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves entertain Madonna. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
