Jackie Donovan said afterwards. "We'll make the necessary adjustments and focus on our next, most important game."

The Crusaders found the scoreboard just 15:05 into the match following a Lourdes foul in the penalty area. Kelly Capoccia converted the penalty kick to put the visitors on top. Less than three minutes later, Dayna Meloche headed home a corner kick from Jessica Witt, giving Madonna a 2-0 lead that the Crusaders would take into intermission.

Taylor Kelly added an insurance goal in the 81
st minute, collecting a loose ball in the box scoring from about 10 yards out.

Madonna (5-1, 1-0 WHAC) outshot Lourdes 18-11 for the afternoon, including a 7-4 advantage on goal. The Crusaders also held a 6-4 edge in corner kick opportunities.

Blaire Schmalenberg made four saves between the posts to record the shutout for the Crusaders while
Erika Brinkman (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida H.S.) made four stops in goal for the Gray Wolves.

Lourdes (4-3-1, 1-1) will play its final non-conference match of the season on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Marion, Ind. to face Indiana Wesleyan. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m.
