Playing double overtime for the second straight match to open up the 2015 season, Lourdes surrendered a goal with 1:41 remaining and suffered a 2-1 setback to Saint Francis (Ind.) at D'Arcy Stadium in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Hannah Elzinga took a feed from Summer Holtkamp and found the back of the net for the match-winner for the Cougars.

Saint Francis (3-0) scored first, as Mackenzie Starcevich scored inside the six-yard box with 6:21 remaining in the first half to give the Cougars the lead at the break.

Jada Foster (Lenox Township, Mich./Anchor Bay H.S.) evened the match at the 54:57 mark, firing a shot to the lower right corner for the first goal in Gray Wolf program history, a tally which would eventually force overtime.

"This was just a heart-breaking loss for us in the final minutes of double overtime," head coach
Jackie Donovan stated. "Our backline laid everything on the line today and played one heck of a match."

The Cougars held a 20-3 edge in shots for the match, as Lourdes goalkeeper
Erika Brinkman (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida H.S.) made seven saves for the Gray Wolves. Ashley Reed did not make a stop between the posts for Saint Francis. The Cougars also held a 10-1 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

Lourdes (0-1-1) will be idle until next Saturday when the Gray Wolves host Bluffton at Wildcat Stadium in the first home match in program history. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
